Beauty,
plus your choice of 3 of the 12 optionals are required to win a Supreme title.
You may enter as many optionals as you wish and only your three highest

Winners may be either male or female.
Age
division optional winners will receive a certificate.
Winners will be chosen for each age and gender division.
Beauty outfit can be Sunday
Best, Formal Wear, Party Wear or Pageant Wear and is judged on personality,
natural facial beauty & attire. (Attire
is based on age-appropriateness, fit and how well it compliments the wearer).
The outfit itself is not as important as the person wearing it!
Optionals Available Are:
Photogenic: A head shot photo, 8 ½ x 11 or smaller. No frames. Color or black & white. Contestant’s name and age on the back. You may enter ONE photo.
Talent: Three minutes max. You may do ONE talent only. Bring two or more copies of tape, cued and labeled. Bring back up tapes incase the first one breaks.
Portfolio: 5-10 photos in an album or binder with contestant’s name
and age indicated on it.
Activity: Scrapbook of achievements, community service, awards, sports,
etc.
Sportswear: High glitz is definitely allowed. Pro-am routines or anything-goes routines also allowed and
encouraged.
Personality: Judged during an on-stage interview with the director.
This takes place immediately after you present your beauty/formal wear
event. Everyone will be briefed
the day of the pageant on how this works, exactly.
For babies and younger children, a favorite toy in lieu of actual
questions may be used (to see how the child interacts with the toy and the
director).
Most
Beautiful/Handsome: Judged on natural facial
beauty and determined during beauty/formal wear event.
Best
Fashion:
Judged during beauty/formal wear event and based on age
appropriateness, fit and how well it compliments the wearer (NOT on cost of
garment, designer, etc).
Best
Model:
Judged during Beauty (there is no modeling score needed to win Beauty.
This is just an optional).
All
American Artist: Design and bring in a
poster promoting All American Family California Pageants. Will be judged on ability for age, creativity and overall
appeal. All entries will be on
display during the pageant and will be kept by the pageant for display at
future events!
All
Optionals will be awarded on an Overall Basis (one overall winner in each
optional category) AND on an age division basis.
Please
note that at NO TIME are bathing suits allowed onstage!!
Double Crown
Policy:
We do not double crown!
If you win Elite Supreme you are not also eligible to win Mini-Supreme
or King/Queen. If you win Mini-Supreme you are not eligible to win
King/Queen. The four Supreme
titles will be placed as “Prince/Princess” until they are announced as
Supreme winners. Winning Supreme,
King/Queen, etc does not have any effect on your ability to win Overall and/or
Divisional Optionals. The
one exception to this rule is if there is only ONE person in a division AND
they also win a Supreme title. In
that case, they may be crowned Queen (or King) of their division as well as
Mini or Elite Supreme. This
keeps the level of surprise high for everyone. "Hostess" title
also has no bearing on any other titles and may be "double-crowned.
If you win an optional
on an overall basis, you will not be eligible to win it again at the age
division basis. Again, you will
win the highest award you achieve. Boys
and girls compete equally for Grande Supreme, Mini-Supreme and Overall
Optional awards.
Judging Criteria:
We are a family values
oriented pageant system. We believe all contestants are beautiful and that
each individual has a special and unique value. We offer a variety of
different options (which apply toward Supreme), each weighted equally, so that
contestants can choose their own areas of strength and put their best foot
forward.
We seek to be represented by contestants who are naturally beautiful, inside
and out. They have personality, character and a special quality that shines
through. We want to see each one as an individual. We will not do any line-ups
at this pageant. We want each contestant to be evaluated on his or her own
merit and not compared to other contestants.
The Beauty score is determined based on three areas: Personality (as
determined by interview. This is not an 'I.Q.' test but based on the personal
appeal & character of each individual), Natural Facial Beauty ('pageant'
hair and some makeup are allowed, but we prefer them to be age appropriate and
to enhance the natural beauty of the contestant, not alter their appearance to
look like an unnatural "standard." We do discourage
"obvious" makeup, especially on babies & small children. Older
girls are allowed a little more lee-way. Please, no fake tans, fake eyelashes,
extensions, falls, etc. The point is that cosmetics should enhance, not alter,
the appearance) and Attire (which is based on how well the clothing fits, how
age appropriate it is and how well it compliments the wearer). We do not judge
by the cost of the garment, who the designer is or how many beads are on the
dress. A fancy pageant dress and a Sunday Best dress could be equally
successful if they fit all of these criteria and if the contestant looks and
feels great in them.
For photos we allow glamour type pictures and they can have fancy hair &
makeup. However, we prefer photos that look "real" and not overly
"retouched." Many pageant photographers automatically touch up the
photos and we are not penalizing them for this. However, we prefer that the
photo be an accurate representation of the person, as much as possible. We do
not look for only the big name pageant photographers. A good photo from a
local department store could be just as successful as a top pageant
photographer. We are judging the photogenic merit of the person in the photo,
not the skill of the photographer. There is no score for "eye
contact." Smiling or serious photos are equally acceptable.
For modeling ability (and talent) we look at what they are able to do and how
it relates to the age of the contestant. For beauty modeling, we prefer
straight run-way, Miss America-type modeling. For the optional sportswear
modeling event each contestant is allowed to choose his or her own modeling
style. We do not add or subtract points for the style they choose, merely for
how well they model for their age. (There is no "modeling" score for
the beauty competition).
We especially like to see contestants who are attractive, personable, poised,
confident and happy with themselves.
We
will also award a “Host” or “Hostess”
award, based on most referrals over 5 (6 or more).
Sibling Discount: First child is full price.
Additional children of the same family are 50% off.
This is for Supreme Packages ONLY and the discount applies to the same
or lower priced package.
Referral Credit: You will receive a $25 discount per referral. If you refer four, then Package A is FREE; refer six and Package B is FREE. Referrals must not currently be on our mailing list or have competed in AAF before. Your name MUST be listed on the referred’s paperwork. You cannot refer each other and siblings do not count as referrals.
